Chioma Momah

Chioma Momah is the Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Guinness Nigeria PLC, working at the intersection of policy, strategy, and real-world outcomes.

Here’s how Chioma is leading beautifully in this season:

“A defining moment in my career was recognising that I was underemployed and undervalued in a role where I was consistently delivering beyond the scope of my position, yet not being positioned for the level of impact I knew I was capable of. I realised I wanted to operate more deliberately in the policy space, where my skills, training, and interests could be better utilised and where my work could influence systems, not just outputs. I became more intentional about seeking roles that aligned with this broader level of impact…

That season of waiting and searching was formative. It clarified my sense of purpose, strengthened my confidence in the value I bring, and ultimately led me to pursue opportunities that allowed me to work at the intersection of policy, strategy, and real-world outcomes.

Beyond my formal role, I create impact by investing intentionally in people. Through the Butterfly Project and Ascend one-on-one coaching, I mentor and coach working women, particularly mothers, helping them navigate leadership, career progression, and life transitions with confidence and clarity.

I also contribute to thought leadership through writing, speaking, and moderating conversations at the intersection of policy, leadership, faith, and family life… In many of these spaces, my influence is not tied to title but to trust, shaping how people think about leadership, balance, and purpose.

In this season of my career, I have become more deliberate about where and how I show up. I engage intentionally in professional and policy spaces where ideas are shaped, and relationships can translate into meaningful collaboration. Online, I use platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram to share thoughtful reflections… Rather than being everywhere, I focus on showing up consistently in spaces that align with my values and long-term impact goals.

Relationships and community have played a significant role in expanding my influence… In several instances, professional opportunities were not accessed through formal applications alone, but through people who had observed my work, integrity, and consistency over time and were willing to vouch for my capacity. One such example was when a family friend recommended me for a very senior role… others include speaking engagements and even my current job.”

Connect with Chioma. She is a powerful example of career evolution, moving from feeling undervalued to shaping policy, influencing systems, and investing deeply in people along the way.
