Dani Hart is a Program Manager at Outdoor Afro and Founder of Sweet Escape, LLC leading at the intersection of community, peaceful practices, and intentional alignment.
Here is how she is leading beautifully in this season:
“In Spring 2024, I was laid off, and if I’m honest, I was tired. I thought my next move might be something smaller, more behind-the-scenes.
Instead, within a month of starting a supportive role, I was invited to take on expanded leadership responsibilities, and within 10 months, I officially stepped into the broader leadership role.
It felt like a divine reminder that exhaustion isn’t a cue to shrink, it’s an invitation to realign and rise differently. That season stretched me, strengthened me, and affirmed that my impact was never meant to be minimized, just refined.
One way that I am creating impact beyond my formal role is through my work with my lifestyle brand, Sweet Escape, LLC. In this business, I support individuals and communities with integrating peaceful practices into their lives; essentially helping them care for their souls.
I’ve always been deeply intentional about alignment. Last year was about building my work around the life I want, not contorting my life around the work. This year, I’m leaning fully into community-centered healing and collective peace, because that’s what people are craving.
Every meaningful opportunity in my career has been relationship-driven. Most recently, my network led to a grant opportunity supporting the well-being of youth workers across Indiana, and we were awarded the funding. It reminded me that when we nurture community with sincerity, doors open in ways that feel aligned, not forced.”
