Have you ever wanted to do so much more than your regular "day job"? Do you have other interests and passions, but aren't able to explore them at work? You've seen that some of your colleagues are holding these amazing leadership roles in your community, but you have no idea how they landed these opportunities? Then you don't want to miss this conversation!

Special guest, Gina Fezler and I met when we served together on Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Chicago - Northwest Indiana division! We then became co-chairs for the inaugural Prom Night Gala back in 2019. Though I no longer serve on the board, I was able to leave my mark and also leave with so many takeaways. I won’t share because you have to watch the broadcast replay!

During our chat, Gina shared with us these 5 benefits of serving on a nonprofit board:

  1. Enhance skill set

  2. Networking

  3. Broaden horizons

  4. Give back

  5. Be part of the community

Other chat highlights include:

  • The difference between nonprofit and not-for-profit

  • How to attain a position as a member of a board of directors

  • How Gina priorities her family and her various leadership and civic roles

Tune in to the Water Cooler Chat to watch the replay and join the conversation. Then come back and watch Part 2 where you’ll learn what Gina is up to next!
